Fostering Moments

Reflecting on moments

Themed ‘Fostering Moments’, this year’s Foster Care Fortnight emphasises the transformative power of small, everyday actions within foster care that collectively create life-changing experiences. Whether it’s a shared laugh over dinner, guidance through a tough piece of homework, or the comfort of a listening ear during difficult times, every moment matters in fostering.

‘Taking a little one to a wedding for the first time and watching her steal the spotlight by entertaining the young children was a precious moment.  She was excited about going, curious about what a wedding is like, but quickly felt at ease.  She glowed more than the bride.’

‘My young person came down out of blue with open arms for a hug, the very first time and I was taken back and said wow what happen here, she said I just wanted to do that. Hugged her back and said lovely I like that.’
